How do I report a road issue?

To report an issue on a Parish road, please contact the Jackson Parish Road Barn at (318) 259-5661 or select "Report Road Issue" from our menu options.  Make sure you have the road name and the closest address number to the issue so that our team can better understand your request.

How do I report road issues on a state highway?

For issues on a state highway (Hwy 167, Hwy 4, Hwy 34, etc.), please contact the State Highway Department for the Jackson/Lincoln area at (318) 259-3362.

If I'm within the city limits, who do I call for maintenance of my street?

You must call the municipality in which you reside for assistance with any of your maintenance needs.  This includes any questions regarding your utilities, i.e. gas, water, sewer, etc.  The municipality telephone numbers are listed under "Our Parish" from the main menu screen.

A trucking or construction company is carrying heavy loads and is creating potholes on my road, who do I call?

We issue permits to companies to use our roadways in order to complete projects, however, if you see a road being damaged by the use of a company, please call our Road Barn immediately so that we can check for the proper permitted use.  Our office grants permission to use the roadways based on the type of activity performed.  The Road Department will be able to verify if the company has a permit to operate.

How do I get a replacement (or new) road sign?

Parish road signs are periodically destroyed or stolen and need to be replaced for safety reasons.  Please contact our Road Barn (318) 259-5661 to request a replacement sign.

For a sign for a private road, please contact the 911 office at (318) 259-2103.

Due to guidance from the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), we do not issue or replace "Caution", "Children At Play", or speed limit signs.  Please refer to our Parish Roads and Bridges Ordinance for specific rules and regulations on Parish Roads.  If you have a concern with a particular road, you may petition the Police Jury to review the request at an upcoming Road Committee Meeting.  Please submit a written letter of request to the Police Jury Office at: 500 E. Court Street, Room 301, Jonesboro, LA 71251.

Check out this article on "Children At Play" signs.

When is my road going to receive major repairs/blacktop overlay?

Please refer to our current "Jackson Parish Road Priority List" to view the priority listings for every Parish Road.

Every three years, the Police Jury designates someone to review all roads in the Parish Road System and perform a rating based on pre-determined criteria.  From that raking, the annual road program is determined and presented to the Police Jury for approval.
